New Delhi: At the 100th convocation ceremony of Delhi University held on February 24, 2024, over one lakh students were conferred with special degree certificates featuring heightened security measures akin to currency notes and with candidates' colour photos and their mothers’ names.
These unique degrees awarded at Delhi University's 100th Convocation come equipped with approximately 17 security features, including micro-text, hidden images, invisible ink logos, barcodes, and QR codes to prevent duplication or forgery.

This batch marks the first recipients of DU's special degree certificates, with a total of 1,38,020 students—comprising 58,545 male, 79,475 female, 1,30,697 undergraduate, 7,323 postgraduate, and 659 PhD students—receiving degrees during the event.
Key Highlights of DU’s 100 Annual Convocation Ceremony
Bhavana Bansal Gupta, a teaching faculty at Miranda House College, spoke out her sentiment, emphasising this initiative's numerous benefits to students. The 100th annual convocation was presided over by Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who shared the significant changes in the degree certificates.
The convocation ceremony, marking the centenary year of Delhi University, saw students with traditional Indian attire along with specially designed handloom fabric angvastras. Sandeep Sharma, a PhD degree holder at DU expressed satisfaction with the university's incorporating 17 security features into the new degrees, ensuring security and durability.

During the ceremony, postgraduate students sported gold-bordered turquoise stoles featuring the university's logo. At the same time, undergraduates wore yellow stoles, and PhD, Doctorate of Medicine, and MCh students adorned red stoles.
