NEET 2025

To meet the growing need for medical experts in India, the government has announced plans to significantly increase the number of medical seats available nationwide. This growth includes both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) medical programs, demonstrating the government's commitment to improving the nation's healthcare system. This endeavor is an important aspect of larger initiatives to improve the overall capacity and quality of India's healthcare.

NEET UG and PG Seats Allocation Process

The NBE publishes a merit list for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) candidates based on their NEET UG and PG cut-off scores. The merit list includes the names of candidates who are invited to the NEET UG and PG counseling rounds. Candidates are admitted to MD/MS/DNB courses through counseling. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) organizes counseling sessions for 50% of AIQ, Deemed/Central Universities, and ESIC/AFMS institutes, while the remaining 50% of seats are handled by the relevant state counselling body.

To participate in the NEET UG and PG counseling, candidates must register on MCC's official website, pay the registration cost, and select a course or college. Finally, the MCC publishes the results of NEET UG and PG counseling in the form of a seat allocation list. The NEET UG and PG seats are allotted based on the alternatives selected by the candidates and their All India Rank. MCC will conduct four rounds of counseling for All India Quota seats: the first, second, mop-up, and stray vacancy rounds.
