ICAI Introduces New Evaluation Format for CA Final Paper 6

New Delhi: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has introduced a revised evaluation method for the CA Final Paper 6. Under the New Scheme of Education and Training, the CA Final Paper 6: Integrated Business Solutions will now be an open-book, case study-based examination for all aspiring chartered accountants.

Despite this change, the ICAI exam duration will continue to be four hours. The assessment for this paper will comprise 40% multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 60% descriptive questions within each case study, each carrying 25 marks.

According to an official statement, ICAI conveyed that the students should take note that the evaluation of the CA Exam- Final Paper 6: Integrated Business Solutions under the New Scheme of Education and Training will adopt an open-book and case study-based approach.

The Council has confirmed that the exam duration for this paper will remain at four hours. Additionally, the assessment method for this paper will consist of 40% multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 60% descriptive questions within each case study, each allocated 25 marks.

As per the announcement, there will be five case studies, each carrying 25 marks. Students are expected to attempt any four out of these.

In June 2023, ICAI introduced new courses in prosecution, psychology, philosophy, and artificial intelligence as part of the 2024 curriculum. Aimed at achieving international recognition, the ICAI CA new course provides flexibility in subject choices, except core subjects. Notably, the duration of articles in the old course has been reduced from three years to two years.
