IIT Madras Internship Drive 2023 Records 19% Surge in Day One Offers; Check Placement Report Here

New Delhi: The recent IIT Madras Internship Placement drive witnessed a 19 percent increase in the number of internship offers received on the first day of the drive as compared to the previous years.

As per an official press release from IIT Madras, the internship drive targeted students from the 2023-24 batch and was conducted in two sessions on August 5 and 12, 2023.

IIT Madras Placements 2023-24 Highlights 

Prof. Sathyan Subbiah, Advisor for Placement & Internship at IIT Madras Faculty, expressed that an internship has become a vital element in kickstarting a successful and rewarding career for students. 

He commended the team's efforts in facilitating internships for students even in challenging conditions, allowing them to apply their acquired skills and knowledge in a real-world work environment.

The institute reported the reception of 19 international internship offers from seven companies, indicating a 17 percent rise in the number of students securing internships. 

Furthermore, IIT Madras noted a substantial 51 percent increase in the number of companies visiting the institute for internship opportunities.

Prof. P Murugavel, Co-Advisor for Placement and internship at IIT Madras, mentioned that internships provide students with exposure to the corporate world, allowing them to apply classroom knowledge to real-world problem-solving. 

He expressed satisfaction with the record-breaking number of companies offering a substantial number of internship opportunities to students, emphasizing the industry's trust in them.

According to the press release, top recruiters such as Texas Instruments, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co, Adobe, Procter and Gamble, and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories have extended internship offers.
