IIT Madras to Host ‘IITM for All’ Expo on March 2 and 3; Register by February 29

New Delhi: IIT Madras welcomes the public to attend its annual Centre For Innovation (CFI) Open House Event and the "IITM for All" Expo, scheduled for March 2 and 3, 2024. Interested participants can register by February 29, 2024, via shaastra.org/register.

This Centre For Innovation event at IIT Madras allows visitors to explore the institute's advanced laboratories and Centers of Excellence (CoEs), offering valuable insights into the latest research and technology.

Dean of IIT Madras, Sathyanarayana N Gummadi, said, “This is one such initiative of the students, which the institute is fully supporting to showcase IIT Madras’ advanced laboratories to the general public. I believe this will be an opportunity for all to visit the campus and motivate the young generation who will be the leaders of the future.”

Key Highlights of IITM for All Expo

Some of the features of the 'IITM for All' expo are a robotics lab, biomedical engineering labs, a rockets and missile laboratory, ballistic and high-speed flow labs, a 360-degree full bridge ship simulator, an electric vehicle fun event, a cardiovascular genetics lab, lab-grown diamonds, the CFI open house, and 3D printing facilities, among others.

Providing further details about the expo, V Sriram, Co-Curricular Advisor at IIT Madras, mentioned, "As part of 'IITM for All' this year, we are organising captivating and informative offline lab tours. These tours will cover each department and its diverse range of labs, enabling campus researchers to showcase their fascinating work to young students and the general public."

Prabhu Rajagopal, an Advisor at IIT Madras highlighted, "CFI currently hosts thirteen clubs and seven competing teams, engaging over 600 students in activities throughout the year. The CFI Open House is a platform to exhibit student projects, fostering the application of knowledge and innovation for real-world solutions”.
