Exam Details
- Mode of Exam: Pen-and-paper-based (offline)
- Duration: Two papers, each of three hours
- Date of Exam: May 18, 2025
- Compensatory Time: PwD candidates with at least 40% disability or those with writing difficulties are eligible for an additional hour per paper.
Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2025
To appear for JEE Advanced 2025, candidates must fulfill the following:
Performance in JEE Main 2025:
- Be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the JEE Main B.E./B.Tech paper.
- Reservation percentages:
- GEN-EWS: 10%
- OBC-NCL: 27%
- SC: 15%
- ST: 7.5%
- OPEN: 40.5% (includes all categories).
Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed Class 12 or equivalent in 2024 or 2025.
Attempt Limit:
- Maximum of two consecutive attempts, starting from the year of Class 12 completion.
Age Limit:
- Born on or after October 1, 2000 (five-year relaxation for SC/ST/PwD)
Reservation of Seats
Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government of India. The categories and the extent of reservation are as follows:- General category candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS): 10% of seats in every course. The benefit of reservation will be given only to those General category candidates who satisfy the conditions outlined in OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II dated January 17, 2019 issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
- Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL): 27% of seats in every course. OBCs must be listed in the current updated central list of OBCs (http://www.ncbc.nic.in).
- Scheduled Caste (SC): 15% of seats in every course.
- Scheduled Tribe (ST): 7.5% of seats in every course.
- Persons with Disability (PwD) with at least 40% impairment: 5% of seats in each of the OPEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST category seats (https://depwd.gov.in/acts/).
