New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for challenging the JEE Main January Session 2024 provisional answer key. According to the recent announcement, candidates now have the opportunity to raise objections against the JEE Main Session 1 answer key until February 9, 2024, at 11:50 PM. It was initially specified on February 8, 2024.

The extension for JEE Main Answer Key Challenge Window is due to technical glitches in the server as a result, students were not able to submit their objections. NTA will not entertain any further requests for challenging the provisional JEE Main Answer Key beyond the extended deadline. Candidates wishing to raise objections must pay a non-refundable fee of INR 200, which can be processed through debit card, credit card, or net banking. No other payment modes will be accepted for the objection fees.

Que. How to challenge the JEE Main 2024 Session 1 Answer key?

Ans. Candidates must visit the official website of NTA at jeemain.nta.ac.in. Click on the option to ‘challenges regarding answer key’. Then, log in using their application number and password. The JEE Main answer key shall contain the question ID and the ID with a correct option for papers 1 and 2. Candidates can challenge the question by selecting one or more IDs and now click on ‘Save your claim’ and click on next. Challenged Question ID shall appear on the screen. Candidates must now upload the necessary documents supporting their claim. Upload the same in pdf form and click on the ‘Choose file’ button on the screen.

JEE Main Answer Key Dates

For those who previously challenged the JEE Main Session 1 answer key without providing the appropriate Question ID/Option ID, there is an opportunity to challenge again. The initial objection fees will be refunded to the candidates' bank accounts in such cases. Candidates will receive communication regarding the refund process via email at their registered email ID or through SMS at the mobile number they provided. After submitting the challenges, the answer key will undergo revision if the challenge is deemed accurate. Subsequently, the official release of the JEE Main Session 1 final answer key is scheduled for February 12, 2024. It is important to note that the authority will not provide individual notifications to candidates regarding the acceptance or non-acceptance of their challenges. Once the final answer key is published, further challenges from candidates will not be entertained.
