NTA to release final answer key soon; JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results expected by February 12.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to release the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 final answer key shortly on its official portal. After closing the objection window, the agency is now reviewing challenges and will publish the revised answers.
Based on the final key, percentile scores in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and overall aggregate will be calculated. As per trends, the key may arrive by February 9 or 10, while the result is expected by February 12.
How Will Scores be Calculated?
The Session 1 result will be prepared only on the basis of the final answer key. Candidates will receive:
- Subject-wise percentile scores (Maths, Physics, Chemistry)
- Overall percentile
- Normalised performance across shifts
The result is expected by February 12, 2026, possibly late night on February 11 or anytime during the day.

After reviewing all objections, the National Testing Agency (NTA) may drop a few problematic questions from the paper. Experts indicate that around 7 questions could be removed, and in such cases, bonus marks will be awarded only to candidates of the affected shift.
For instance, if a question from the January 21 Shift 2 exam is dropped, only students who appeared in that shift will receive full marks. The final answer key will clearly list all dropped questions and revised answers, and no further challenges will be accepted.
Along with the Session 1 result, NTA will also publish the toppers list, featuring candidates who secure 100 percentile scores. However, students should note that the All India Rank (AIR) and JEE Advanced cutoff will not be announced yet.
These details will be released only after Session 2, as rankings are prepared based on performance across both attempts. After checking their scores, candidates can analyse their percentile, plan improvements for the next attempt, and continue registration and preparation for Session 2, while regularly visiting the official website for updates on results and further processes.
Candidates are advised to check the official website and collegedunia.com for the latest updates.
