JEE Main 2026 recorded over 11 lakh (Paper 1) and 54,953 (Paper 2) registrations, with ~93% and ~73% attendance and ~97% Aadhaar authentication.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has successfully concluded the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 after conducting the exam across six days from April 2 to April 8, 2026. The examination was held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at approximately 566 centres spread across 304 cities within India and 14 cities abroad.
Around 11.23 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, marking a significant participation in India's premier engineering entrance test.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Registration & Attendance Data
For Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), approximately 11.06 lakh candidates registered domestically and 4,229 internationally, achieving an attendance rate of about 93% with Aadhaar authentication at around 97%. For Paper 2 (B.Arch./B.Planning), approximately 54,953 candidates registered domestically and 270 internationally, with an attendance rate of about 73% and similar Aadhaar authentication levels.

What Happens Next?
NTA will release the question papers for all shifts of JEE Main 2026 Session 2 in the public domain by April 9, 2026, ensuring transparency and enabling candidates to review the questions asked during the examination. The Provisional Answer Keys for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), along with the recorded responses of candidates, are expected to be released by April 11, 2026. Candidates can challenge the provisional answer key online by paying ₹200 per question within the given timeframe. Using the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 score calculator, candidates can also estimate their probable scores based on their responses and the answer key.

After the declaration of results by April 20, 2026, candidates will proceed to the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling process for seat allotment in NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions.
