The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed via their social media handles that the online application process for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 (April Attempt) will commence on February 1, 2026. Candidates are advised to keep their documents ready and visit the official portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in to submit their forms before the deadline.
JEE Main 2026 Session 1: Latest Updates
While the focus shifts to the April attempt, candidates who appeared for the January Session (Session 1) can check their results on February 12, 2026.
- Response Sheet & Provisional Answer Key: NTA is expected to release the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Response Sheets and Provisional Answer Keys on February 4, 2026, and the challenge window will stay open from February 4 to 5, 2026.
- Objection Window: Once released, students will have a 2-day window to challenge any discrepancies in the answer key by paying a non-refundable processing fee.
- Score Calculation: Candidates can use the response sheet to calculate their raw scores before the official percentile-based results are announced.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Overview
The NTA is set to open the registration window for the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 (April Attempt) on February 1. Candidates who missed the first session or wish to improve their scores can apply through the official website. This session serves as the final gateway for admission to undergraduate programs in top-tier institutions like NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
Application Fee Structure
For the Session 2 attempt, the NTA has structured the fees as follows:
- General (Male): ₹1000
- General (Female): ₹800
- Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL (Male): ₹900
- Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL (Female): ₹800
- SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: ₹500 (Uniform for all)

JEE Main Session 2- How to Apply?
1. For Registered Students (Session 1 Applicants)
If a candidate already applied for the January attempt, he/she do not need to register from scratch.
- Step 1: Login: Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and log in using his/her Session 1 Application Number and Password.
- Step 2: Course Selection: Select the Session 2 (April Attempt) checkbox. He/She may add or change papers (e.g., adding B.Arch).
- Step 3: Update Details: The data is pre-filled, but he/she can update Exam City Preferences and educational qualifications.
- Step 4: Fee Payment: Pay the fee via Net Banking, UPI, or Card.
- Step 5: Confirmation: Download the Revised Confirmation Page.
2. For Fresh Students (New Applicants)
If a candidate did not apply for Session 1, follow the complete cycle:
- Step 1: New Registration: Click "New Candidate Registration" and select identity verification (Aadhaar e-KYC preferred, DigiLocker, or Passport).
- Step 2: Create Account: Verify his/her Email and Mobile via OTP and generate an Application Number.
- Step 3: Fill Application Form: Enter personal details, academic marks (Class 10 & 12), and select 4 preferred Exam Cities.
- Step 4: Live Photo Capture: Use a webcam for a live photo with a white background (80% face visibility). Upload a scanned signature (4 KB to 30 KB) and Class 10/Category certificates in PDF.
- Step 5: Fee Payment: Complete the transaction through the online gateway.
- Step 6: Confirmation: Save and print the Confirmation Page for future counseling.

- Class 10 & 12 Marksheet (only Class 10 details needed for those appearing in Class 12 in 2026)
- Aadhaar Card
- Scanned Photograph and Signature
- Category Certificate (For EWS/OBC-NCL Candidates, if applicable)
