The JKCET is an offline, pen-and-paper-based test (PBT). Students will be required to mark their answers on an OMR sheet using a blue or black ballpoint pen. The question paper will be provided in English only.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has announced the exam date for the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to B.E. and B.Tech courses for the academic session 2026.
According to the latest notification issued by the Board, the entrance examination will be conducted on April 19, 2026 (Sunday) across various designated centers in the Union Territory.
The announcement comes as a pivotal update for engineering aspirants seeking seats in Government and Private Engineering Colleges and Institutions within J&K.
While the exam date is now set, the Board has clarified that the notification regarding the downloading of Admit Cards will be issued separately in the coming days. Candidates are advised to keep their login credentials ready and monitor the official portal closely for the download link.

In the official notice (No. 017-BOPEE of 2026), Controller of Examinations, Prof. Gurvinder Raj Verma, emphasized that all other terms and conditions previously mentioned in the initial notifications (dated March 18 and April 1) remain unchanged.
The Board has also dispatched copies of this notice to the relevant administrative departments in both J&K and Ladakh to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to remain in regular touch with the official JKBOPEE website to avoid missing any updates regarding the examination venue, timing, or the release of the hall tickets.
