KEA has set aside the Karnataka NEET UG 2025 Round 3 seat allotment result following HC directions. A revised Round 3 counselling schedule will be released soon on cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.

The third-round seat allotment result for NEET UG 2025 counselling in Karnataka has been revoked following a directive from the Karnataka High Court (KHC). The decision affects approximately 900 MBBS and BDS seats that were allotted across the state, calling into question the fairness of the previous allotment process.
A Special Bench of three judges reviewed the allotment procedure and found discrepancies in the distribution of newly added or vacant seats. As a result, the provisional list published on October 24, 2025, has been set aside, and KEA has been instructed to undertake the counselling process afresh for Round 3.

Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2025: What Is the Issue?
The Karnataka High Court has directed the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) to redo the entire third round of MBBS and BDS counselling. A bench of three judges issued the ruling, asking KEA to follow its standard counselling procedure with an essential corrective modification. This decision came after two earlier judges delivered conflicting views on how the third round should be conducted.
The High Court noted an error in the way KEA allocated seats during Round 3. According to the court, the process led to candidates with lower NEET scores receiving better seats than those who ranked higher. The problem arose because KEA considered only newly added candidates when filling seats that became vacant after the first part of the third round, instead of re-evaluating the entire pool of eligible candidates. The court has now instructed KEA to revise the seat allocation method to ensure a fair and merit-based distribution.
What Candidates Should Know?
- Previous allotment annulled: All seat allotments under the earlier Round 3 have been cancelled.
- Approximately 900 seats remain vacant: The seats will be reallocated under the new counselling process.
- New schedule coming soon: KEA will issue a fresh timeline for Round 3 counselling and seat allotment.
- Candidates must wait for the official update: Until the new dates are notified, all previously allotted seats remain invalid.
The High Court’s intervention aims to ensure transparency and fairness in the admissions process, particularly with the recent addition of seats and concerns over merit-based allotment. Students and parents are urged to follow official announcements carefully and avoid confusion resulting from the revoked allotment.
