MCC Releases Revised NEET PG 2025 Seat Matrix; 28,663 Seats for Round 1 Counselling

The updated seat matrix reflects the withdrawal of 103 seats and the addition of 6 new ones. Round 1 registration and choice filling will close on November 5, and the allotment result will be announced on November 8.

MCC Revises NEET PG 2025 Seat Matrix

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a revised seat matrix for the NEET‑PG 2025 counselling process, detailing the number of available MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB seats for Round 1. According to the latest update, a total of 28,663 seats are now available after the revision.

This update comes just ahead of the choice‐filling and registration stage for Round 1 counselling, and candidates are advised to check the updated list of seats before making their preferences. The seat matrix covers both All India Quota (AIQ) seats as well as seats in deemed/central universities and other institutions.

As per the revised data, 49 Doctor of Medicine (MD) / Master of Surgery (MS) seats and 54 Diplomate of National Board (DNB) seats have been withdrawn, while 6 new seats from private hospitals have been added to the Round 1 matrix.

Following this revision, the total number of seats available for NEET PG 2025 counselling now stands at 28,663, covering MD, MS, Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma), and DNB programmes under different quotas.

Earlier, the MCC had notified 28,760 seats, carrying 12,678 seats under the All India Quota (AIQ), 804 seats under the Central Internal Quota, 6,156 seats under Deemed Universities, and 9,122 seats under Deemed Universities, and 9,122 seats under the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) category.

The MCC has confirmed that the round 1 registration and choice filling process for NEET PG 2025 counselling is currently underway and will close on November 5, 2025. The seat allotment process will take place from November 6 to November 7, and the round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on November 8, 2025.
