The National Council for Teacher Education has started accepting applications for the four-integrated programme for transition to the Integrated Teacher Education Program.

New Delhi: The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has started accepting applications for a four-year integrated programme to the ITEP. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website of NCTE at ncte.gov.in.
Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP) is a bachelor's degree that offers both BA BEd/BSc, BEd, and Bcom, BEd as dual majors. According to the official notice, “NCTE hereby invites applications from the institutions which have been granted recognition by NCTE to run the 4-year integrated programme. The institutions desirous for transition to ITEP must apply on the official website of NCTE website within the given time.”
Last year, the National Council for Teacher Education launched the Integrated Teacher Education Programme in 57 Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) for the previous academic session. This course will prepare teachers for the four stages of the new school structure foundational, preparatory, middle, and secondary (5+3+3+4).
As per the NCTE Statement, if any institution is not recognized by NCTE and applies for transition, the application will be rejected and the fees paid by the institution will be forfeited.
According to NCTE, 2024–2025 would be the final academic year that students can be admitted to 4-year integrated courses. After that, no further students will be admitted to these courses. Students enrolled in classes for the 2024–25 session will be permitted to finish them. The four-year combined BSc BEd/BA BEd course will no longer be offered starting in the 2025–2026 academic year.
