NEET PG 2025 exam date has been revised to August 3, 2025. NBEMS will conduct the exam in a single shift, from 9 AM to 12.30 PM to ensure fairness and transparency.

National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has postponed the NEET PG 2025 exam date to August 3, 2025. Notably, the NEET PG exam will be conducted in a single shift – 9 AM to 12.30 PM. This decision was made after an extension was granted to NBE by the Supreme Court bench comprising Justice PK Mishra and Justice AG Masih to conduct the exam.

NBEMS has added more cities to accomodate all candidates in a single shift. Candidates have to now re-submit the exam city preferences from June 13 (3 PM) to June 17, 2025 (11.55 PM).

The selection of Exam City by the candidates will be on First Come First Serve Basis.

  • Previously, NBEMS was scheduled to release the NEET PG 2025 city intimation slip on June 2, 2025. The updated city slip will be released on July 21, 2025.
  • NEET PG 2025 Admit Card was supposed to be available from June 11, 2025. Now, the revised admit card will be available on July 31, 2025.

NEET PG 2025 Exam Postponed

Originally scheduled for June 15, 2025, NBEMS faced criticism over conducting the NEET PG 2025 exam in two shifts. Concerned parties stated that the NEET PG exam being conducted over multiple shifts will result in different difficulty levels and affect candidate performance.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India acknowledged these concerns and ordered NBEMS to conduct the exam in a single shift to ensure uniformity and fairness.

NBEMS had to postpone the NEET PG 2025 exam to “arrange for more test centers and required infrastructure”. Approximately 2.5 lakh candidates will appear for the exam. To accommodate all candidates in a single shift, NBE needs to arrange for at least 500 exam centers. The two-months’ time is essential to identify centers, arrange security, and allow candidates to select their preferred centers.

“We, accordingly, direct the respondents to make necessary arrangements for holding the NEET-PG 2025, examination in one shift, duly ensuring that complete transparency is maintained and secure centres are identified and commissioned."
