The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) SS exam, for admission into programmes like Medicine (DM) and Master of Surgery (MCh) commenced today with some students facing difficulty at some of the exam centres.

New Delhi: The NEET SS 2023 examination was started on September 29, 2023. for admission into programs like Medicine (DM) and Master of Surgery (MCh). However, the NEET SS 2023 edition has been marred by technical glitches that have disrupted the smooth conduct of the exam at several centers across the country. There was a delay of over two hours.
Medha Sohane, who is a NEET SS 2023 aspirant, shared her ordeal of facing problems at the exam center “Even after taking more than 4k exam fees, all we get is uncertainty, delays and technical glitches. Today there was a delay of 1.5 hours in the NEET SS exam pan India. NBE never fails to fail.”
Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) India also mentioned the delay and shared the problem that students had to face at the examination center and stated that due to the Gross mismanagement by NBEMS for #NEETSS2023, the Morning session was delayed by 2 hours today at @GangaIntlll school. It writes: “Charging so much money and acting so callously is not acceptable. At least these doctors deserve a smooth & hassle-free exam process!”

The NEET SS 2023 exam is being taken for different groups on both days of the exam in order to accommodate a broad range of students, as per the National Board of Examinations (NBE). As per the NEET SS 2023 Exam Schedule, the exam will be conducted in two shifts, the morning shift will be conducted between 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon shift from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In his tweet, Dr. Hiren Jobanputra, a parent of a NEET-SS candidate, tagged Railway Minister Ashwini Vishnav and expressed his concerns. “Sir today my son appears for the NEET SS examination at Ahmedabad. Here Center said that due to server problems exam starts at 11:00 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. Sir, I’m digital era that is ridiculous. You must prepare for the same. Take strict action responsibly.”

The NEET SS paper comprises 150 questions and aspirants need to answer all within the time limit of 150 minutes. The NEET SS exam scores are acknowledged by all private medical colleges, universities, deemed universities, and military medical service institutes except AIIMS, New Delhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh, JIPMER, Puducherry, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, and SCTIMST, Thiruvananthapuram.
The NEET SS will be a collective examination featuring questions exclusively from broad specialty primary feeders. Candidates can now participate in any super-specialty based on their feeder subject.
