NEET 2026 Scribe Form OPEN

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the Scribe Registration Portal for NEET(UG) 2026 on April 16, 2026. This is a critical step for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates who are eligible for a scribe to assist them during the examination. The last date to register scribe details is April 21, 2026- candidates must act immediately.

Who is Eligible for a Scribe?

The following PwBD candidates are eligible to avail a scribe for NEET UG 2026, as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016:

  • Candidates with benchmark disability of 40% or more
  • Candidates with visual impairment
  • Candidates with locomotor disability affecting their writing ability
  • Candidates with any other disability that prevents them from writing

Steps to Register Scribe Details for NEET UG 2026

  1. Visit the official website: neet.nta.nic.in
  2. Click on the 'Register Scribe Details for NEET(UG) – 2026' link on the homepage.
  3. Log in using your Application Number and Password/Date of Birth.
  4. Enter scribe details: name, qualification, and relationship to candidate.
  5. Upload the required supporting documents.
  6. Submit the form before April 21, 2026.

Important Rules and Conditions for Scribe

  • The scribe must belong to a different stream than the candidate's subject area.
  • The scribe's qualification should be one level below the candidate's qualification level.
  • The candidate is responsible for the conduct of the scribe during the examination.
  • The scribe cannot be a relative of the candidate.
  • PwBD candidates using a scribe will receive compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour.
  • Candidates must carry their disability certificate to the exam centre on exam day.
