New Delhi: The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) has announced the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2024 exam schedule on the official website @nestexam.in. The NEST exam 2024 will be conducted on June 30, 2024.

NEST 2024 Application Processs will begin on March 20, 2024. You can apply until May 31, 2024. NEST is conducted for all candidates seeking admission to the NISER Bhubaneswar, and the University of Mumbai Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for NEST Exam 2024?

You become eligible for the program when you satisfy all four following criteria:

Educational Qualification: You must have passed your Class 12 board examination or equivalent in the science stream in the years 2019 or 2020 or will appear in 2024 from any recognized Higher Secondary Education Board in India.
Minimum Marks Required: Aspirants must have secured at least 60% in aggregate in the XII standard board examination. For SC/ST/Divyangjan candidates the requirement is 55%.
Age Limit: You must be born on or after August 01, 2001. For SC/ST/Divyangjan students the limit is relaxed by five years.

Ans. Candidates who wish to pursue M.Sc in basic sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics) in a 5-year integrated program offered at NISER and UM-DAE CEBS, will have to appear for NEST 2024.

Ans. NEST is not difficult for candidates who have clarity in basic concepts of science. The questions in the paper are asked from class 11 and 12 syllabi.

Ans. Yes. You can apply for NEST 2024 even if you belong to the PCB stream as the paper includes a General Section that needs to be attempted by all. Besides that, the other 4 sections are optional and a candidate can attempt questions according to his/her understanding.
