Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply for NEST 2025:
- Must complete or appear for the 12th Standard (or equivalent) exam in 2023, 2024, or 2025.
- A minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/Divyangjan candidates) in the Class 12 examination.
- Must secure a position in the NEST 2025 merit list.
Application Fee
- Female applicants (all categories): ₹700
- SC/ST/Divyangjan applicants: ₹700
- Male/Other applicants (UR/OBC): ₹1,400
How to Apply
To apply for NEST 2025, candidates must complete the online application form available on the official website nestexam.in. The application process is divided into three phases:
- Phase 1: Register and provide basic details such as Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, and Mobile Number.
- Phase 2: Login with the credentials sent via email to complete the application form.
- Phase 3: Seek technical support if needed through the Helpdesk.
Ensure that the application is submitted before the closing date, May 9, 2025.
About NEST
NEST is the national-level entrance exam for admission to the Integrated M.Sc. programs offered by NISER and UM-DAE CEBS. The institutes were established by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, with the objective of training scientific manpower and contributing to frontier research. The test will be held across around 120 cities in India, thereby providing a wider reach to the candidates.
Successful candidates admitted to NISER or UM-DAE CEBS are also eligible for annual scholarships of ₹60,000 under the DISHA scheme offered by the Department of Atomic Energy. Additionally, the summer internships come as a grant of ₹20,000. These students have found themselves at prominent universities and institutes worldwide to pursue Ph.D. programs.
