The National Medical Commission (NMC) has extended key deadlines affecting the admission and course application processes in medical institutions across India. The new deadlines, applicable to first-year MBBS admission data entry and applications for initiating new Post-Graduate (PG) Medical Courses, aim to provide stakeholders with additional time for compliance. Highlights of the Announcement

  • Extended Deadline for MBBS Data Submission: All medical colleges in India must submit first-year MBBS admission details for the 2024-25 academic year via the NMC’s online portal by November 23, 2024. The extension provides additional time for institutions that faced challenges meeting the initial deadline.
  • PG Course Application Deadline Extension: The NMC has also extended the deadline for institutions to apply for new PG medical courses, PG institutes, or an increase in seats for existing courses. Applications can now be submitted until November 22, 2024.

Important Instructions

  • Compliance Requirement: This information submission is mandatory under the “Criteria for Identification of Students Admitted in Excess of Admission Capacity of Medical College Regulations, 1997.” The NMC has reminded institutions that compliance is necessary, following guidance from the Supreme Court.
  • Application Portal: Institutions should access the NMC online portal at NMC Portal for submission.

These extensions by the NMC allow institutions additional time to complete essential admissions and application steps for the academic year.
