NIT Puducherry has released the provisionally selected candidates for PhD 2024 admission. Candidates are requested to report to the institute on January 2, 2025. Read the article below for more information.
NIT Puducherry (NITPY) has released the list of candidates provisionally selected for PhD admission to the Jan - 2025 session. Selected candidates must report to the Academic Office on January 2, 2025 with original certificates and one set of photocopies.
NIT Puducherry Ph.D. 2024-25 Selection Process
- Candidates will have to appear for a written test and interview by the Departmental Selection Committee.
- Candidates for both full-time and part-time will appear for a common written test.
- Candidates' merit list after the written test and interview will be submitted to the Chairperson Senate for approval.
- Candidates selected will be offered to enroll in the PhD programme with the fee payment.
Note: Candidates can take admissions to the PhD programme through Institute Fellowship (Direct PhD), other Fellowships (CSIR - UGC JRF/NET/QIP), or sponsorship from an organisation under a bilateral agreement with NITPY.

*Tuition fee is applicable for the GEN/OBC/EWS category. SC/ST/PWD do not have to pay the tuition fee.
NIT Puducherry Ph.D. Documents Required
Candidates must report to NIT Puducherry with the following original certificates and one set of photocopies:
- SSLC
- HSC
- UG / PG Mark Sheets
- UG Degree
- PG Degree
- Valid Category Certificates (OBC-NCL/EWS/SC/ST, if applicable)
- Journals / Conference Papers (if applicable)
- Experience Certificate (if applicable)
- NET / SLET / GATE (if applicable)
- Form-1 & Form-2 (Refer to institute brochure)
- Awards / Prizes / Sports / NCC (if applicable)
- Transfer Certificate
- Aadhaar Card
- Passbook of Savings Bank Account-State Bank of India
- Fee Receipt (To be paid at the time of admission through SB collect)
- Affidavit (The format will be mailed to the respective email id)
- 2 Passport size photos
