The NIT Surathkal has opened the admission process for M.Tech (Sponsored) and M.Tech (Research) programmes for the academic session 2026–27. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the institute portal until April 20, 2026, while the last date for submission of the hard copy of the application is April 24, 2026.
For M.Tech admissions, candidates seeking full-time scholarship seats must apply through the Centralised Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT) 2026 process based on their GATE scores. However, admissions to M.Tech (Sponsored) and M.Tech (Research) programmes are conducted directly by NIT Surathkal. Selection will be based on academic performance in the qualifying examination, written test, and technical interview, as decided by the respective department.

Applicants must complete the online application form and pay the application fee through the IRIS portal. The application fee is INR 500 for OC, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, and PwD candidates need to pay INR 150.

Candidates applying under the sponsored category must have at least two years of full-time work experience in the sponsoring organisation. The institute also noted that a separate notification for admission to self-financed seats in M.Tech, MBA, and MSc programmes will be released later on the official website.
