New Delhi: As per the latest updates, the National Medical Commission (NMC) is preparing to organise a webinar for final-year MBBS students and all Medical Colleges to introduce them to the National Exit Test (NExT) on June 27, 2023.

During the online session, the NMC Chairman Suresh Chandra Sharma will speak to medical students and faculty members of all medical colleges and address the concerns, speculations, and other apprehensions regarding the NExT exam.

In an internal notice, NMC shared, “All medical colleges are requested to join the webinar through the link provided below one hour prior to the actual scheduled timing at 1:30 PM on 27 June and make suitable arrangements in their lecture hall with proper audio-video”.

“The webinar is to be attended by all final year MBBS students along with the faculty and only single login is permitted from each medical college,” the document added further. This webinar aims to lessen the stress built around the proposed exam and remove apprehensions.

NMC has directed all medical colleges in India to join the session and encourage final-year MBBS students to do the same. To ensure a smooth transition and prevent any last-minute errors, the commission conducted a mock webinar on June 26, 2023, at 2:30 PM.

Each medical college will receive only a single login window to join the NMC NExt Webinar. The webinar will include informative sessions on the NExt exam and the chairman will address the faculty members of private and government medical colleges across the country.

The National Exit Test will replace all the existing medical entrance exams, including NEET PG from the 2024-25 session. The exam will function as a qualifying and screening exam for final-year MBBS students. NMC has released the draft guidelines for the proposed medical exam.

According to the NMC guidelines, the entrance test will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will focus on the written/theory exam and the NeXT part 2 exam will cover practical, oral, and clinical tests for the seven clinical subjects and disciplines.
