The PhD programme at St Joseph University, Dimapur, is offered for 3 to 6 years, a full-time and part-time course. For the 2026 admission cycle, the Phd programme will be provided in various subjects: Commerce, History, Journalism and Mass Communication, Management, Social Work, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.

Admission to the Doctoral programme will be based on an entrance test, St Joseph University, Dimapur entrance examination, conducted by the institute, followed by a presentation, an interview, and viva voce, which will be conducted in the afternoon session on the same date. Applicants are required to hold a postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks, while candidates qualified in the entrance test with a UGC / CSIR (NET) examination/ GATE scores are exempted from the entrance exam.
