Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), has hosted its 9th convocation ceremony on May 15, 2023

New Delhi: The Dr. Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute of Telangana at Jubilee Hills hosted the 9th Convocation of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Hyderabad with great success.
The Millet woman of India, Sharmila Oswal, who was the convocation ceremony's chief guest, spoke on the occasion and urged the graduating students to put their academic knowledge into action and effect actual change as change agents.
“To succeed, leave your comfort zone and work in the field to attain an understanding of social reality,” she added.
Oswal also discusses the value of millets as a superfood, the necessity of organic farming, and the Indian digital revolution. On the basis of her experiences working with farmers, she also emphasised the necessity of enhancing millet production in order to empower farmers.
The director and vice-chancellor of TISS, Shaline Bharat, congratulated the graduates on gaining their degrees and strengthening their minds while absorbing the rich TISS ethos for a just and sustainable world.
As per the TISS Hyderabad, A total of 136 degrees were awarded, 32 students received an MA in public policy and governance, 24 received an MA in women's studies, 7 received an MA in education, 25 received an MA in rural development and governance, 25 received an MA in natural resources and governance, and 30 received an MA in development studies. The students also received medals and prizes in celebration of their academic success.
