VMOU Kota to Organise ICSSR Sponsored Capacity Building Program 2023 from December 04, Register Here

New Delhi: Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), Kota is preparing to organise an ICSSR-sponsored Capacity Building Program for its Social Science Faculty Members from December 04 to December 16, 2023. Those who wish to attend the program can submit their applications by November 24, 2023.
As per VMOU Kota, the Capacity Building Program will be held on the theme of "Recent Trends in Qualitative Research in Social and Behavioral Sciences". The ICSSR-sponsored Faculty Development Program (FDP) will be held for a duration of two weeks in online and offline mode

Informing about the program, the official notice reads, “The FDP aims to empower faculty members in social and behavioral sciences to pursue research in their area of interest. Social science research, as we all know, is very dynamic and constantly reshaping our understanding of the world with new facts, interpretations, and approaches”.

VMOU Kota Capacity Building Program 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The 2-week Capacity-Building Program is open to faculty members (lecturers and assistant professors) in social science and behavioral science disciplines from research institutions, colleges, and university departments.

Approximately 30 candidates from across the country will be selected. Participants will receive free boarding, lodging, and train fare (sleeper class) reimbursement for outstation participants.

Highlights of VMOU Kota Capacity Building Program 2023

The ICSSR Training and Capacity Programme (TCB) funds social science faculties to organise research methodology and capacity-building programs for young researchers and other junior faculties. 

The domains covered in this program include the following: Economics, Management, Commerce, Sociology, Social Work, Social Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Socio-Sanskrit Studies, Socio-Philosophical Studies, Social Linguistics, Gender Studies, Health Studies, Political Science, International Studies, Environmental Studies, Modern Social History, Media Studies and Library Science among others

The ICSSR-Sponsored Training & Capacity Building Program comprises two main categories:

(A) Research Methodology Course (RMC):

This course elevates the methodological and writing skills of M Phil/PhD/PDF scholars, nurturing their potential as future academics and social science researchers.

(B) Capacity Building Program (CBP):

This program aims to provide exposure to in-service faculty, mainly Lecturers/Assistant Professors in Social Science disciplines. It offers insights into the latest advancements in their fields and technological innovations and enhances their methodological and writing abilities.
