Online applications for West Bengal JECA 2026 are now open from April 9 to April 22, 2026. The Master of Computer Application entrance exam will be held on June 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. across multiple examination zones in West Bengal.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has opened online registrations for JECA 2026, the common entrance test for Master of Computer Application (MCA) admission. Candidates can apply through the official portal at admissions.nic.in/wbjeeb. The application window closes on April 22, 2026, and the examination is scheduled for June 14, 2026.

WB JECA 2026 is a state-level entrance examination conducted by WBJEEB for admission to MCA programs in various government, government-aided, and self-financing institutes across West Bengal for the 2026-27 academic session.

The exam will be held in OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) format with a single paper containing 100 multiple-choice questions. Candidates must meet specific academic eligibility criteria, including a bachelor's degree with minimum 50-60% marks depending on the module and institute.

  • April 9, 2026: Online application window opens

  • April 24-25, 2026: Correction period for application details
  • June 4, 2026: Admit card download begins
  • June 14, 2026: JECA 2026 examination (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

The application fee is Rs. 500 for general category candidates and Rs. 400 for SC/ST/OBC-Category-A/OBC-Category-B/EWS/Third Gender candidates, payable through net banking, debit card, credit card, UPI, or QR code. Candidates must register with a valid mobile number and email ID, as all future communications will be sent to these registered details.

The registration information, including name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, and domicile, cannot be modified after submission under any circumstances.

The examination will test candidates' knowledge across multiple subjects, including C Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Unix, Data Structures, Computer Networks, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, and Machine Learning. The question paper consists of two categories: Category-I with 80 questions carrying 1 mark each (with -1/4 negative marking) and Category-II with 20 questions carrying 2 marks each (with no negative marking). The total duration is 2 hours, and all questions will be in English language only.

Candidates must carry their printed WB JECA admit card, a color photograph matching the uploaded image, and a valid photo identity card (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, or 10th standard admit card) to the examination center. Candidates are advised to reach the center at least 30 minutes before the test begins. Prohibited items include written materials, calculators, pens, log tables, wristwatches, mobile phones, and any Bluetooth devices. Candidates found with such items will face cancellation of their candidature.

WBJEEB will publish model answer keys shortly after the examination, allowing candidates to challenge answers by paying Rs. 500 per question. OMR images and machine-read responses will be available for download within one week of the exam.

Results will be published in the form of rank cards containing individual scores and ranks. Candidates can download their rank cards by logging into the portal with their application number and password. The Board will not publish any rank or score lists to maintain candidate confidentiality.

Following the W JECA result declaration, WBJEEB will conduct online counselling and seat allotment through e-Counselling. A separate notification detailing the counselling procedure, seat matrix, and admission criteria will be published on the Board's website after results are declared. Candidates must ensure their documents are valid as per applicable rules at the time of verification during counselling. Securing a rank does not guarantee admission; allotment depends on merit rank, category, domicile status, and seat availability across various institutes and modules.
