I'm studying at AIIMS Raipur, so I can share a lot about it, but I can't really compare it to AIIMS Patna since I haven't been there. When I was choosing colleges, I had AIIMS Patna as an option, but I went with Raipur because people told me it was safer. I can definitely say that the academics at AIIMS Raipur are fantastic. The teachers are really committed and always come up with new ways to help us manage our workload.
As for accommodation, first-year MBBS students live in 3-bedroom apartments shared by five people. Three students have their own rooms with a shared bathroom, while the other two share a larger room with an attached bathroom. We have hot water and a constant water supply. The college is also getting better at organizing events. We have marathons, dance events, street plays, and lots of cultural and sports activities.
It's tough to say which college is better, as everyone has their own preferences. What works for one person might not work for another. Right now, AIIMS Nagpur is considered a bit ahead compared to other AIIMS that opened around 2018-19. But this lead isn't permanent because all AIIMS are still growing. Some might have certain facilities sooner, while others catch up later, maybe with a six-month difference. For example, AIIMS Bhopal went without a director for a long time, yet it's now often favored over others. Remember, these preferences can change as things develop.
It really depends on what you prefer. When I had the option, I didn't go for AIIMS Nagpur, even though it was within my rank and had already admitted one batch. The main reason was that it was too far from where I live. However, I noticed that seats at AIIMS Nagpur were more in demand than those at AIIMS Raebareli, as it filled up with students who had higher ranks.
AIIMS Nagpur is about to enroll its third batch, while AIIMS Raebareli is going to accept its second. My advice would be to reach out to some seniors at these colleges to get insights about the atmosphere, teachers, and facilities. Compare what they say to see what fits you best. Remember, no one can just rank colleges out of nowhere! ????
