Maharashtra is quite large. If you live closer to Nagpur, then picking AIIMS Nagpur might be the way to go. Both are AIIMS, so the differences aren't huge, and Nagpur is developing quickly.
However, AIIMS Rishikesh currently has a bit of an edge over Nagpur. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide.
Both AIIMS Nagpur and AIIMS Rishikesh are great options. I've shared my thoughts on college reviews before, so feel free to check those out. If you're asking for my take, I'd recommend going with Nagpur since traveling long distances for MBBS can be challenging. It's beneficial to pick a college that's nearby and doesn't involve major cultural shifts.
Rishikesh might not feel too different, but Nagpur's proximity makes it a more convenient choice. Ultimately, it's your decision. Some students prefer to venture out of their home state for a new experience, which is completely understandable. If that's your goal, then Rishikesh could be a good fit.
I was in your shoes last year when I had to decide during counseling. Here's some advice to think about when picking a college:
First, consider how far the college is from your home. The distance is super important because MBBS is a long six-year journey. Being closer to family can be comforting since traveling back and forth isn’t easy, especially with the strict attendance requirements.
Also, don't forget to check out things beyond just academics. Look into the college's clubs, festivals, the bond between seniors and juniors, and the curriculum. Academically, most AIIMS are similar, so these extra factors can make a big difference.
I hope this helps you decide, and good luck with the counseling!
