If you're deciding between RIMS Ranchi, formerly RMCH Ranchi, and IGIMS Patna for your MBBS studies, RIMS Ranchi is the better choice. Whether you look at the campus, the faculty, or the facilities, RIMS stands out more than IGIMS. A lot of the improvements at RIMS are thanks to the efforts of the former director, Dr. Dinesh Kr Singh, who made some important changes. That's why RIMS has been doing so well lately. Best, Rahul Singh
I have studied MBBS at IGIMS Patna, and I can say it's a solid choice for medical students. The faculty is highly qualified, and the student-to-faculty ratio is good, which means we get a lot of attention from our professors. The course curriculum is intense but prepares us well for practical scenarios. Plus, we get a stipend of ?30,000 during our internship, which is quite decent. However, the fees are a bit high compared to other government colleges, around ?121,000 per year. Overall, I think IGIMS provides a better overall experience for MBBS students.
I chose IGIMS Patna for my MBBS because it has a great reputation, and I wanted a college that is known for good education and facilities. The internship stipend is good, and we get to interact with real patients early on, which is essential for practical learning.
The campus life is also vibrant with events like Cerebexia, but you should be prepared for the fees, which are fairly high compared to some other colleges. Overall, I think IGIMS is a solid choice for MBBS.
I can't really compare RIMS and IGIMS directly since I've only experienced IGIMS for my MBBS. The faculty here are supportive and knowledgeable, and the exams are manageable if you keep up with your studies.
The campus has a variety of facilities, including a good library and sports activities, which makes student life enjoyable. But the fees are on the higher side, which is something to consider. I feel like IGIMS is well-established, and the infrastructure is impressive.
Back when I was choosing where to study for my undergraduate degree, I had the option to join either RIMS in Ranchi or IGIMS in Patna. RIMS has been around longer, but IGIMS offers better patient care and facilities, as it's a tertiary-level hospital. Both schools have equally qualified teachers, and at IGIMS, professors are really committed to teaching. So, even though both schools are great for getting your MBBS, I decided to go with IGIMS, even though I'm originally from Ranchi.
