The institute is filled with self-important professors who boast about their BE or ME degrees but don't seem to know much beyond that. Many of them graduated from here and, realizing they couldn't succeed elsewhere, ended up teaching here. They act like they own the students, even though we pay the fees. They nitpick about attendance, journal deadlines, journal sizes, fonts, assignments, and more. If they don't like something, they'll demand you change it, costing you more time and money.

Some even proudly announce in class that they don't care if the syllabus is completed on time if there's an issue with a student's attendance or if students haven't memorized their notes. Because of this, important topics often get left out.

Extracurriculars are frowned upon. It's almost like they should put up a sign saying attend lectures or leave. The director seems more focused on increasing student numbers than improving learning or activities. He often thinks students are arguing with him even when they're just answering questions.

Oh, and since April 2018, they've introduced a mentor form system, which means you have to chase after your mentor, who might not even know they're your mentor. This form records your class attendance, which seems to inflate the professors' egos even more.

If you talk to VIT students about the different departments, you'll hear complaints across the board, except for the computer department. That's because the top computer students often become the college's or coaching center's professors.
