Starting salary:

  • Group A salary: 68,000 - 76,000 INR
  • Group B salary: 63,000 - 68,000 INR

Details:

  • Starting Basic: 44,900 INR
  • DA: 17% of 44,900 = 7,633 INR (for X class cities like Delhi, Mumbai, etc.)
  • Nursing Allowance: 7,200 INR
  • Washing Allowance: 1,800 INR
  • Transport Allowance (in X class cities): 3,600 + DA = 4,212 INR (DA 17% as of Dec 2019)

Total Salary:
44,900 + 7,633 + 7,200 + 1,800 + 4,212 = 76,521 INR/month. This amounts to 918,252 INR per annum.

Additionally, the government contributes 10% of Basic + DA (i.e., 5,253 INR at current rates) to your NPS Tier 1 Account. This adds another 63,036 INR to your CTC.

You also receive tuition fee reimbursement of 54,000 INR per annum for 2 kids. Plus, there’s a bonus amount of 6,774 INR (ad hoc bonus) or up to 23,000 INR (PLB bonus) once a year.

Moreover, DA increases twice a year, six months apart, as announced by the government, along with an increment of approximately 3% of the Basic salary annually.

CTC is then approximately:
918,252 + 63,036 + 54,000 + 6,774 = 1,042,062 INR.

Additionally, you will receive hometown tickets for your family for the first 3 years and all-India tickets in the 4th year in a block of 4 years. This continues for a total of 8 years for a fresh recruit.

The starting basic pay for a new nursing officer in AIIMS is Rs 44,900. In addition to this, you receive:

  • 31% of Basic Pay as Dearness Allowance (Rs 13,919)
  • House Rent Allowance of 27% of Basic Pay (as Delhi is classified as a X category City, this may vary in other cities) Rs 12,123
  • Nursing Allowance of Rs 7,200
  • Dress Allowance of Rs 1,800

So, the approximate Gross Total Salary is Rs 79,942.

From this salary, there are some compulsory deductions:

  • New Pension Scheme (10% of B.P + D.A) = Rs 5,882
  • Professional Tax: Rs 200
  • Employees Health Scheme (1% of B.P): Rs 449
  • Income Tax (assuming 10%): approx Rs 7,000

Total Deductions: Rs 13,531.

Therefore, the Net Salary in Hand is Rs 79,942 - Rs 13,531 = Rs 66,411.

This is a rough calculation of a New Nursing Officer's Salary in AIIMS (Delhi). Note that HRA varies according to the city where AIIMS is located.

Hey! I'm currently in the B.Sc (Nursing) program at AIIMS Delhi, and I can share that the average package post-graduation is quite promising. Once we complete our course, we need to clear the NORCET exam, which allows us to become nursing officers. The salary for these roles is pretty decent, especially since it's a central government job. Plus, during our internship, we get a stipend of around Rs 13,000 for six months, which is a good boost. Overall, you can expect a solid starting salary after graduation if you’re determined to work in this field.

What's up! I'm a first-year student in B.Sc Nursing at AIIMS Delhi. The average package after completing the course and passing the NORCET exam varies, but nursing officers in the central government earn a handsome salary. The amount can reach around Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 or even more, depending on experience and location. The course includes a six-month paid internship where we earn around Rs 13,000, which is great for gaining practical experience. So, it’s a good route if you’re looking for a stable career!
