Is the DTU main campus hostel good or should I try some private one to stay??

Hostels at DTU are definitely better than those at NITs.

• The mess food is enjoyable in the first year! If you're lucky enough to get into the seniors' hostel (HJB Hostel), you're in for a treat.
• However, be prepared for the same boring pre-defined menu later on, which will make you think about when to eat out for dinner.
• If you manage to have a girlfriend, you'll probably skip hostel lunch!
• Wednesdays are the best! Your day scholar friends will join you for the chow mein buffet—definitely the highlight of lunch.

Overall, you'll have a great time staying there!

• In the first year, three students share one room.
• Students must be back in their rooms by 9 PM. The hostel wardens won’t let you in after that.
• For late-night cravings, Maggi Baba is a lifesaver! He serves Maggi and tea and has been around for years. A true lifeline for hostel students! :D
• A LAN connection is provided for students.
