Considering the fees and return on investment, BITS Pilani for BE Computer Science is a smarter financial choice compared to DTU for B.Tech Chemical Engineering. Although DTU has a lower annual fee of Rs.2,29,000 and strong placement opportunities, BITS Pilani offers an average package that significantly outweighs the costs, typically leading to higher salary outcomes post-graduation. Moreover, BITS provides better access to resources and scholarships, making it more valuable in terms of overall educational experience and career prospects. If you’re aiming for a robust tech career with better financial returns, go for BITS Pilani; if you prefer a more stable engineering path and are okay with slightly less lucrative outcomes, DTU could work well too.
When it comes to placements and internships, BITS Pilani's BE in Computer Science generally has the edge over DTU's B.Tech in Chemical Engineering. BITS Pilani is known for its strong tech focus, with companies like Microsoft and Google actively recruiting its graduates, often leading to higher average packages. While DTU boasts good internship opportunities and a solid average package of around 16 lakhs, the highest package in 2026 can sometimes be misleading when compared to the top-tier packages at BITS Pilani.
If you're leaning towards a tech career and have the chance, BITS Pilani is the safer bet. However, if you have a genuine interest in Chemical Engineering and prefer a more relaxed curriculum with internship options, DTU could still be a great choice.
BITS Pilani for sure! DTU is a highly crowded college. The reservation system at DTU is excessive. You won't find much cultural diversity at DTU, as 85% of students are from Delhi. The professors at DTU are not great, and the curriculum is lacking. The reputation of DTU is declining day by day.
On the other hand, BITS Pilani is a fantastic college!
I would rank them as follows: Top 7 IITs > IIT BHU > IITH ~IIITH~ BITS Pilani ~ Top 3 NITs (Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal) > Rest of the Indian engineering colleges.
Both DTU's B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and BITS Pilani's BE in Computer Science have their strengths, but they cater to different interests and career paths. DTU offers a solid chemical engineering curriculum with a good faculty-to-student ratio and strong internship opportunities, especially with big companies like Microsoft and Google, making it a great option for those interested in the core engineering field. However, the campus life and hostel facilities could use improvement.
On the other hand, BITS Pilani is known for its excellent campus life, high academic standards, and a robust computer science program that opens doors to tech careers, often leading to higher average placements. If you're leaning towards tech and want a vibrant campus experience, BITS Pilani is your best bet. But if you're more interested in chemical engineering with a chance to explore tech on the side, DTU could be the right choice.
Easy choice! BITS Pilani all the way! While DTU is a reputable college and may have good faculty, BITS offers additional advantages:
Finally, the BITS tag is valued higher than NIT or other institutions (except for the IIT tag). In my opinion, IIT-M, B, K, D, KGP > BITS Pilani > NIT Trichy > IIT-R, G, BHU > NIT Warangal, Surathkal >>>>>>>>>>>>>> any other Indian college.
