The actual answer is that it depends on the subject you want to study in your B.Tech. However, since Mathematics and Computing shares many subjects with Computer Science, you can get a taste of CS in MNC (Mathematics and Computing) as well. Plus, IITs offer the flexibility to choose courses from other branches.

Four years is a significant amount of time, so living in a city like Delhi is a much better option than Kanpur. IIT Delhi is located in Hauz Khas, one of the poshest areas in Delhi, with plenty of interesting places nearby for fun. In contrast, IIT Kanpur's campus is reportedly far from the main city.

IIT Delhi's location provides access to all kinds of coaching for future exams, which is not as readily available in Kanpur. Many students from IIT Kanpur come to Delhi to prepare for exams, especially for civil services.

Don't forget the newly built IIT Metro station on the Magenta Line, right outside the gate of IIT Delhi! Living in such a beautiful campus is something you'll cherish for a lifetime.

MNC is a great option, but remember, it's one of the toughest courses at IIT.

You can choose between IIT Kanpur CSE and MNC based on your interests.

  • If you prefer computers over math, go for IIT Kanpur CSE!
  • If you're passionate about mathematics and computing, then IIT Delhi B.Tech Mathematics and Computing is the way to go!

Choose wisely!

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing offers a higher ROI due to its excellent placement opportunities and lucrative internships, especially in tech and quant firms, with the potential for packages reaching up to 4 crores. While IIT Kanpur's B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering is prestigious, it may not match the immediate financial returns that students from IIT Delhi can expect, given the aggressive hiring from top tech companies. Furthermore, IIT Delhi provides various scholarships which can significantly alleviate tuition costs of 1,00,000 per semester. If you're inclined towards mathematics and tech careers, IIT Delhi would be the smarter financial choice, while those passionate about aerospace engineering might lean towards IIT Kanpur for the specialized knowledge, but with potentially lower financial returns in the initial years.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing offers exceptional placement opportunities, especially in tech and finance, with top companies like Jane Street offering packages up to 4 crores, making it ideal if you want to dive into quant or software roles. Internships are plentiful, and the curriculum is rigorous, catering well to those who love mathematics. On the other hand, IIT Kanpur's B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering has a strong reputation and provides solid career options in the aerospace sector, but it may not match the sheer financial potential that IIT Delhi's program offers. If you're inclined towards mathematics and a lucrative tech career, choose IIT Delhi; if you're passionate about aerospace and its unique challenges, then IIT Kanpur is the way to go.

You're comparing two distinct subjects from equally ranked colleges. Here’s a breakdown:

  • If mathematics and coding excite you, go for IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing.
  • If you have a passion for physics, consider IIT Kanpur's B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering.

Keep in mind, with a degree in Mathematics and Computing, you can easily land jobs in software-related companies. If a good salary is a priority, IIT Kanpur might be the better choice. Engineering Physics is a fantastic subject, and while many students pursue higher education abroad, it has its merits.

If you’re leaning towards Mechanical Engineering, I'd still recommend Mathematics and Computing from IIT Kanpur. And remember, in terms of college reputation, IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur are on par (though some might disagree!).
