DTU's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing has a promising curriculum and great internship opportunities, with companies like Google and Microsoft offering high stipends, which is a solid ROI considering the fees are around 10 lakh for the course. Thapar University's BE in Computer Science and Engineering also offers a similar fee structure, but the placement opportunities seem to heavily favor those with high CGPA, which can be a risk if you don't excel. Both colleges provide scholarships, but DTU's campus life and active societies add extra value. I’d recommend DTU if you want a strong tech presence and a broader range of internships, while Thapar might be better if you’re confident in your academics and want a more traditional CS degree.

I think DTU B.Tech Mathematics and Computing has a slight edge over Thapar University's BE Computer Science and Engineering in terms of placements and internships. DTU offers impressive internship opportunities with companies like Google and Microsoft, and their highest package reached 1.25 crores in 2025. The structured curriculum and good faculty-to-student ratio also support strong career outcomes.

On the other hand, Thapar does provide decent placement prospects, especially for those with a strong CGPA, but the competition can be tougher. If you're aiming for high-profile tech roles and internships, DTU might be the better choice, while Thapar could be suitable if you prefer a more balanced environment with potential for scholarships.

Choosing between DTU's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing and Thapar University's BE in Computer Science and Engineering really depends on your interests. If you're more focused on the stream rather than the institute, go for what excites you.

However, if the institute is a priority, pick the one that feels right for you. I can't speak much about DTU for this particular stream, but I can share insights about Thapar.

  • Placements are solid, especially for CSE (actually quite good) and ECE.
  • Chemical Engineering is also worth considering.
  • Be cautious, though; in 3 or 4 years, mass recruiting companies might dominate campus visits due to last year's disappointing cut-off ranks and student quality.
  • Teaching quality varies and is often teacher-specific.
  • The overall environment is vibrant, with plenty of fests and activities happening.

Make sure to gather information about both institutions before making your decision. You seem like a capable student! All the best! :)

Both DTU's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing and Thapar University's BE in Computer Science and Engineering have their strengths, but I personally lean towards DTU for its strong campus life and active societies that enhance the overall student experience. DTU also has a very competitive faculty-to-student ratio and impressive placement opportunities with top companies like Google and Microsoft, which is a huge plus. While Thapar offers a solid curriculum and decent internship prospects, especially if you maintain a good CGPA, DTU's updated curriculum and vibrant tech and cultural fests really set it apart. If you’re looking for a more engaging campus environment with better placement prospects, go for DTU; if you prefer a more traditional route with solid academics, Thapar could be a good fit.

Thapar is not even in the league of DAIICT and DTU. Now that’s clear, let’s proceed.

  • Faculty: DAIICT has better faculty than DTU. Check their qualifications on the website. The quality of education is superior at DAIICT, with high-tech labs and equipment.
  • Hostel Accommodation: Getting a hostel in DTU is nearly impossible if you're from Delhi, but if you're from outside, hostel accommodation is assured.
  • Placements: Last year, both colleges had impressive placements. Graduates from both institutions landed jobs at companies like Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, etc.
  • Branch Potential: In DTU, Mathematics and Computing (MCE) is a relatively new branch. This year’s placements will be the first for this branch. However, it has immense potential because, ultimately, if you want to excel as a computer engineer or programmer, mathematics is key, and this branch is quite math-intensive.
  • Course Structure: The ICT course at DAIICT is more challenging since it combines elements from CSE, ECE, and IT. Graduates from DAIICT might provide better insights on this.

In the end, you can't go wrong with either DAIICT or DTU. Both are excellent choices!
