Should I go for B.Tech Civil Engineering in LPU or B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering in GEU?

I can't speak for GEU, but LPU has a strong academic alliance with L&T for its civil engineering program. This partnership brings in valuable insights and curriculum from industry veterans. It's a reason why many students choose LPU!

In my opinion, pursuing B.Tech Civil Engineering at LPU offers better job prospects compared to B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering at GEU. LPU has a solid track record with about 80% placement rates and attractive packages reaching up to 15 lakhs, plus strong internship opportunities with major companies like Accenture and Tata. While GEU has good faculty and a decent student-to-faculty ratio, it lacks the same level of industry connections and placement success as LPU. If you're aiming for a strong career in civil engineering with ample government job opportunities, LPU is the way to go. Conversely, if you have a passion for electronics and are okay with potentially fewer job prospects, GEU might suit you better.

Both LPU for B.Tech Civil Engineering and GEU for B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering offer solid options, but I think LPU might provide a better financial return. LPU's curriculum is designed with a strong focus on internships and placement opportunities, boasting about 80% placement rates with companies like Tata and Accenture. The scholarship opportunities can cover up to 60% of the fees, which significantly improves the ROI. In contrast, while GEU also has good faculty and resources, it might not match the financial benefits that LPU offers, especially in terms of government job prospects in civil engineering. Therefore, if you're looking for better financial value and job prospects, I’d recommend LPU for Civil Engineering, while those inclined toward electronics and communication might still find GEU worthwhile, but with potentially less financial advantage.

UPES is the better choice among these two universities! They offer B.Tech in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Infrastructure Development in academic collaboration with L&T (Larsen & Toubro).

On the other hand, avoid Graphic Era University! This institution was blacklisted by the UGC in 2016 for distributing fake degrees for just 2–3 lakh rupees. Don't fall for this scam!

Graphic Era University is an average university, and the placement is around 3.5 lakh per annum.

• The prospects for ECE at Graphic Era are decent.
• You have better chances of landing a core company job compared to other branches, except CS.
• They will also allow you to sit for IT companies if you meet their criteria of 65% throughout without any backlogs.
