Remarks

It's a rather strict college, so if you're looking to have a lot of fun and no pressure, this wouldn't be the place for you. The Amrita University is well known abroad, and would be beneficial if you're planning a post graduation abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It's pretty standard curriculum. Exam Structure includes a Sessional exam at the end of every semester. And a University exam preceded by a Pre University exam at the end of every Academic year. There are also End posting exams and other regular and surprise exams in between.

Placement Experience

4

It's a medical college, There's a 6 month internship/housesurgency after the 4th year. Stipend is about 6000 per month as of now. They will be posted in different wards for specified time periods to make sure they're exposed to all the departments.

College Events

3.5

There's an Art's Day being held in the Month of October or November every year, and Sport's week during the month of February. A national level UG conference named SPASHT is also organised here since 2018.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees would amount to about 19 lakhs per year as of the latest batch. For more details do visit the Amrita Viswavidyapeet website. It's relatively expensive. But it's one of the more affordable colleges among the deemed Universities.

Fees and Financial Aid

None. There's no scholarships or loan facilities available from the college for the general students. The fee should be paid in the beginning of the academic year and that is all. Not availed any loans.

Campus Life

4.5

There's a common ground near the hostel which can be used to play football or cricket. There's also a basketball court and a volleyball court. In the hsotel we have 2 badminton courts. There are labs for various departments and we'll be there according to the schedule or posting.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel would be a hard 3 or 3.5 on 5. It's a two person one room arrangement. Food is also available in the college mess and hostel for breakfast and dinner. It's a vegetarian menu, and ordering food from outside is allowed. Curfew 9 pm.

Alumni/Alumna

Manu of the alumni are among the staff here. Alumni networks do exist, not sure. They are helpful as to giving us tips to survive the life here. Senior students are the ones that actually help us, by telling us how to approach the exam or the examiners

Admission

Cleared NEET with a decent score. Selected Amrita under Deemed Universities. Was allotted a seat here in the online allotment list. Had to Report to the college in the prescribed date with all the necessary documents. Submitted them, had a talk with the Officials of the college including the Principal. After layment of the fees for the first year and getting the material for the uniform, came back to join on the day of commencement of the course.

Faculty

4

Experienced faculty, who are excellent in their areas of expertise. They are well known among the medical fraternity. They try their best in between their working hours and clinic duty to educate us.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .
