Review of my college

College environment is not good for study. If you only want to enjoy college life , you are welcome. There are no restrictions here. You can do whatever you want. Nobody cares. College is worst in terms of education and placement. College dont produce skilled engineers. Everything is just in paper to show to other and get AICTE affiliation

Course curriculum is as per AICTE. But there are options to select a paper out of 2 or 3 in few semester. But college allows to select only course related to CS /IT inspite of being in core branch. We studied C, Data Structure, DBMS, etc, which is not required in core branch.

Placement is just in records. Students get fake offer from companies. They are not giving offer letter after leaving college. Overall placement is less than 30percent. Out of around 1200 students from 2018 batch, only about 300 got job.

There are events like Riviera, Annual workshop Prayukti, Annual sports day, Yoga Day. Different workshops are also arranged from time to time like robotics, etc. But you will not learn well from these workshop as they are conducted just for 1 or 2 day.If you want to really learn, better go outside college to look for better learning opportunity.

It is feasible as compared to other private colleges. Semester fee is around 60000 now. It was 50000 appx in 2014 when i took admission. But it does not include your hostel accomotaion and fooding fee.

College provide scholarship to meritorious students who have got highest CGPA in two consecutive semester for the year. Some seats are also TFW quota i.e tution fee waiver quota. In this quota semester fee is waived off.

There are labs, but the machines or instruments are quite old. These are here since the college established. College has quite big playground for cricket or football. Same playground is used for both sports. There is gym and basketball ground also.

Infrastructure is good. There are no ACs. You will get only cot, matteress, table and chair. Rooms are allocated on two or three sharing basis. Food quality is worst in hostel. It is better to eat outside college.

Some seniors are quite helpful much more than faculties. But not all. Ragging is again common here. They do ragging mostly with 1st year students. Sometimes there are also clashes between 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students. They come in groups and beat students in hostel with hockey sticks or anything they find.

I got admission through WBJEE entrance Examination. Rank was 7234. Done counseling and allotted me second serial number choice from top. First was Jadavpur, which i knew that i will not get allotted that seat because of my rank being too low.

Only 1 or 2 faculty are good in each Department having real knowledge of the subject. Others have little or no knowledge. They will just make you copy from their own notes which they bring everyday to teach. They also discriminate between Bengali and non Bengali students.
