Remarks
Well VIT is a good college, when we look towards its teaching and life. But it lacks infrastructure and development which is expected to be seen considering the increase in fees and expenses. It is an A+ accredited autonomous college which allows yoh you to develop as a good and skilled human not only technically but also socially. Just it should work on its campus placements part though.
Course Curriculum Overview
Being an autonomous college VIT updates. Its curriculum regularly. And goes hand in hand with technology. But sometimes it can be seen that students and teachers face problem due to this continuous and drastic changes in syllabus and subjects. The Exam pattern also keeps on changing every time and then which isn't good, I feel. Overall its good but at the same time college should keep in mind all the aspects and then take decisions.
Placement Experience
Being a second year student, I don't knw much about placements but as much I have heard from my seniors non core students are placed in numbers than core branches. College encourages students to learn and take internships and provides with means to do so. Just a problem is that there is lack of communication and so all students aren't aware about these programs.
College Events
Vishwakarandak is the most awaited event which is an inter- departmental competition. It covers all technical, extra curricular and social events. Melange is another event in college usually held in Feb or March. It envolves participants from all colleges and the events held are nearly same Vishwakarandak. Just a few are different and attractive. Vishwotsav is a cultural fest for students as well as staff of the college. Held at end of academic year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
My fees was 1.54 lacks Now it is increasing rapidly which isn't worth. The campus and development fees are a way apart, it has no worth. New batch has a fee of 1.8 lacks. But nothing in this year has changed.
Fees and Financial Aid
College only offers the Government scholarships. No other private scholarships are offered by the college to general students. Other categories do have to pay very less fees but the grinded are us general middle class students. Moreover it does not avail any installment criterias for fee payment which adds up to the load.
Campus Life
VIT has good hand in extracurriculars, may it be sports, labs aesthetics or cultural. We are encouraged to participate as much as possible in these events. Also some activities are made compulsory for all such as dedication of 40 hrs in a year for social services, etc.
Hostel Facilities
College has no hostel of its own. We need to find a private accommodation for ourselves and ofcourse its expensive. Moreover the area where the college is located is slum. So the standard of living is low. The cost we pay isn't worth living.
Alumni/Alumna
The college and different clubs in college have a good alumni network. The alumni are called in college for a fest or interview or to interact with students. The senior and juniors go hand in hand. There isn't any discrimination.
Admission
Through CAP round, under DTE Maharashtra. This was done based on my MHT-CET score and merit. VIT was allotted to me in first round which I confirmed and carried out further admission process. Which included paying fees and document submission.
Faculty
Faculties are very good in teaching, cooperative and well qualified. College takes feedback about faculties seriously which helps to maintain the quality of teaching and interaction between students and teachers.
