Remarks
The TECHNO MAIN SALT LAKE is said to be the crown jewel of techno group of colleges, but it hardly lives upto the name. The campus is very small, and the canteen is very expensive. Everything in this college is very expensive.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum follows years old MAKAUT structure that needs to be updated as soon as possible. The exam structure is of eight semesters spanning four years. The exam patterns are repeated alternative years and the evaluation process is also not upto the mark.
Placement Experience
This is one area this college is really good. The number of placements are way above average and the quality of jobs offered are high in value. There are some internships offered to some select studens. The average stipend of internships is rs 7500.
College Events
Throughout the year numerous events are celebrated in this college. Tech fest, cultural fest, sports events everything is there. But every event is funded by the students, nothing is included in the course fees. Individual departmental events also take place here.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is relatively expensive in this college. The admission fees and second semester fees are 20 thousand and 35 thousand more respectively than other private colleges. The caution money they retain is also not given back at the end of course.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I did not avail any scholarship ir loan facility. There is student loan available by punjab national bank, bank of india and other banks. The loan has to be paid within 7 years of degree completion.
Campus Life
The extra curricular activities in this college are pretty good. The quality of the labs are also very good. Specially physics and computer labs are very high standard. And the mechanical labs are also of high standard. The lab classes are conducted regularly and are very good.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior Student are not helpful at first but once you get no know more and get more involved, the tend to help you more. The alumni network is not that connected , atleast not in mechanical department. Some other departments have strong alumni network.
Admission
Through joint entrance examination conducted by West Bengal Board of Education. Usually really good performers in this test are selected for admission in TECHNO INDIA MAIN SALT LAKE. The admission fees are relatively higher here than other colleges.
Faculty
The faculty does consist of some highly qualified professors, but there are less qualified personnel too. The behaviour of the senior professors are not good. One has to maintain good relationship with professors in order to survive in this college.
