Remarks
Most of those are mentioned above. But to give you a more specific idea, the college lies between a moderately good & progressing college so the cut off marks for first year are less as compared to other colleges. So the mob at the college may not be good for some students. Also the college can be distant as it's located far from the main road & there's slum area & a school around the college. To speak positive, for a 10 year old college, it has progressed massively. The management always supports the students & at times take one for the team. The construction of the college is also on the spot.It consists of 6 floors & it's designed very professionally.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very well designed except for some subjects & some of the marking schemes. There are 25 credits per semester & 50 credits per year. Students have to collect at least 25/50 to proceed to next year. Each subject is given a specific credit score according to the subject's importance in three specified engineering branch. Passing the subject means getting all the credits & failing means getting none. Minimum 40 marks out of 100 are required for passing. In our time the marks were divided as 50 marks for online exam & 50 for written. There were 2 online exams each for 25 marks. There was not any limit of passing as such in online exam as long as you get 40 marks overall combining written & online exams. Although, in written exams you need to score 20/50 otherwise you'll fail irrespective of your online exam marks. Each subject has 6 units covering the possible aspects of the same. Online 1 exam is based on first 2 units & online 2 is based on 3rd & 4th unit. The final written exam contains all 6 units but the weightage of marks for 5th & 6th unit is more than first four units. However, from Third year engineering, there's an insem exam instead of online exams having a weightage of 30 marks & a final written exam of 70 marks. From second year, there are practical & oral exams also for some subjects.
Placement Experience
For Mechanical branch, the placement are moderate. Some Mncs conduct a campus & offer wages for top tier students lying between 3-5 lakhs per annum. Mahindra,Amazon,L&t are some famous names from them.
College Events
There are many curricular & extra curricular activities. Curricular activities such as BAJA,SUPRA,ROBOCON are carried out for the whole year. They are all India technical competitions for a team of students. Extra curricular activities such as Purushottam & Firodia karandak as well as other cultural programs are also carried out. There's a main event of all branches called as Ensemble which is typically carried out in January. There are sports days, traditional days etc. where the students have a lot of fun.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees are feasible as compared with other colleges. (85000 per year for general category boy). Also there's a stationary store which is also very reasonable. The hostel fees are a bit expensive according to the facilities.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offers EBC for economically backward students. Also there's an earn & learn facility for students having their yearly income below 3 lakhs.I don't think there is a loan facility in the college.
Campus Life
Pretty much average. The playground is not so good there are always vehicles parked & the maintainance is also poor. The labs the other hand are very commendable with all the facilities such as back up electricity, safety tools,a lot of space & advanced machines.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, the seniors are helpful. Also there are not any kind of acts such as ragging or so. The premises has a friendly environment & also a disciplined approach. The rules about the hostel are very strict & they don't allow any kind of misbehavior.
Admission
I got admitted in the college by normal CAP round. I had in my choices the name of MMCOE & in the second CAP round, i got my admission for Mechanical engineering (second shift).I floated my choice for first shift as the timing is more convinient (8am-3pm). I got first shift in the fourth CAP round. I followed the regular engineering admission process at that time which was very complicated. You had to complete many formalities such as going to confirm your documents, submitting your marks & checking out whether or not you are eligible for engineering or not. Then you had to submit your preferred college's list to DTE(An official website for engineering all over Maharashtra). The choices had to be accurate & according to your CET score otherwise you don't get any college. The admission process alone continued for 2 months or so & then finally after getting this college & getting the required branch, i opted to take admission to MMCOE.
Faculty
All the facilities are well educated & well mannered as there's a condition that all the professors must have a PHD in their respective fields (Only talking about the mechanical dept). Although, some faculties at times face problems expressing their knowledge accordingly. Some faculties teach you exam oriented approach so the overall knowledge of that subject can get affected. But most of the faculties are brilliant, smart & respectable. With a few professors, learning is a lot of fun.
