Course Curriculum Overview

5

As the college comes under RGUHS,it's curriculum is similar to most of the colleges in Karnataka. The curriculum helps us to be a good physician by the end of the course. Exam structure is quite simple, total duration of study is 4 and half years. In each year you will have 3 internals(3 written+3 practical) of which best scores of 2 will be taken and u need to have 35% aggrgate to attend exam n above 50% you will be awarde positives which will help u in getting good grades in final exam.In 1st year 3 subjects (para medical) 2nd year (1 1/2 year course) 4 subject(para clinical) 3rd year 3subjects (clinical) and 4th year (4+3)

Placement Experience

5

As we all know that MbbS is one of the toughest course as you need very good clinical skills and observational skill to thrive in real world. MMC provides us with much required conditions and internship to hone that skills. In Internship you will learn the most of skills you will be needing when you go to practice. The stipend here is a government prescribed one i.e 20000/month. The job opportunities after college is very good as this is one of the oldest medical College established in Karnataka

College Events

5

Starting in 1st year you will have fresher party where you can see and do a talent display show. Later you will encounter Ganesha chaturthi which is a big thing here and it is celebrated very grandly over the course of 3 days. Then Karnataka Rajyotsava which is also a morale booster. Magazine release function.you will have socials in 1st year which the batchmates mingle with each others, ethnic day in 2nd year where u wear ethnic dress.in 3rd year you will be given the opportunity to conduct college fest and sports day. Last but not the least Graduation party and ceremony in Internship.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of the college is rather inexpensive as it is a government college most of the fee is subsidised.they charge nominal fee of upto 12 or 13 thousand rupees college fee per year, upto 6 thousand rupees exam fee, and hostel is separate.

Fees and Financial Aid

As this is a government run college you will be getting many scholarship here for example the person who has scored above 85% in his 12th grade can apply for MHRD in which the person will get a total amount of 10 thousand rupees per year if keeps his scores in first class. There are many scholarship for Minorities and economically weaker sections

Campus Life

4.5

The extra curricular activities are pretty good here as the college has its own sports ground where you can play basketball cricket football volleyball kho-kho and the hostel also has its own ground for the same and indoor games like table tennis and carrom can also be played

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel here is a pretty decent one with very nominal fee of 1200 rupees rent per year and 1800 to 2500 rupees mess bill every month. The most interesting part is that the mess is run by group of students chosen from the students staying in hostel (not cooking and cleaning, it's about deciding what breakfast lunch r dinner to make, managing cost and distribution of food, we call it prefecting)

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors here are the most helpful once you get to know them, they help you throughout the course where ever they can.And as of Alumni they help the college by donating or re working class room to help the college to be more student friendly

Admission

Need to write a competative entrance exam (k-cet,now Neet) and if u get a decent rank then the seat selection will be easier. It is online councelling.Pretty easy process of admission.Take all the required documents to kea and register, later in college get admission.

5

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
