Remarks
Nothing so special about this college of marine engineering. The college is so strict and give words only for studies.There is regular time physical education every morning which is a joke done by the wardens.
Course Curriculum Overview
Future of shipping is in sake for the moment but in time it will get back to its standard. Course curriculum is based on shipping, ship repairing and bulding. Exams are conducted each six months in the name of semester exams. There would be 8 semesters in total.
Placement Experience
Companies usually come in the end semesters and pick ups bright students to their company. No internship is provided by the college. We ourselves find internships in the vacations and complete them.
College Events
Freshers day, Passing out ceremony, independence day ceremony, Maritime day, Onam celebrations, Department fests, republic day cermony. These are the common events out of which the marine fest called as PROPULZO is awesome.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees structure is a bit expensive for the marine courses.Each semester you would have to make up to 1 lakh which does not include any other expense like food and accommodations.So all total fo 8 semesters it would be 8-10. Lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are scholarships for reserved castes and their complete fees is met by the government. Education Loan from every bank is available. Other scholarship are also available based on caste reservations and UG marks.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are not encouraged by the college. But every programs are made done by the students itself. Each year there would be different sports competitions.Labs are provided by Cusat.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is compulsory for this course as it is a residential course. The hostel is good and the all the facilities are available. Ther is enough space both for studies and entertainment.The rules in the hostels are sick and the wardens are damn.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumini s are placed in different shipping comanys ( most of them actually).They do come back to the college for their future promotion exams. And mtech is too provided here in the college of marine engineering.
Admission
Completed the entrance exam which was conducted by cochin university of science and technology and got name in merit list of marine engineering category then the college called me up for interview and got admitted in KMSME
Faculty
No up to the standards as expected. There are various technical facilities available in the college. Some of the facultys are taken in for a year or so and there is no proper teaching staffs here. Other curriculum activities are not promoted by the college.
