Remarks
Infrastructure is very poor, lab equipments are defective, no ground, no auditorium. Bad sewage system, water gathers whenever it rains. Bathrooms are really small, there is not even a single water-cooler in the whole campus, and the way to college is in very very bad condition.
Course Curriculum Overview
These days the syllabus has increased too much, much of portion with less of time, very less time to study or read, most of the time you need to write a practical or an assignment, the practicals are long enough, rather too much, which is read by none actually, no one even tries to understand. Exams structure is fine, but the gap between exams is less, i mean the unit tests, hardly 15days of class took place,and exam will be conducted over a huge syllabus, each topics cannot be given sufficient time in order to complete the course. Marks is again an important factor than knowledge for us.
Placement Experience
I have seniors who have done internships, I am a first year student so i haven't attended any of these yet. But yes the college provides internship, and placement is very good in the cse,it ece department, but is poor rather very poor in the departments of civil and mechanical engineering.
College Events
Nothing as such is celebrated, normal classes take place on Teachers Day, Flag hoisting is done on 15th Aug , the college has no fests of it's own, freshers is very poorly celebrated. Technical fest is arranged, which also was stopped for 2 years due to some reason.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible as compared to other colleges, the total fees is about 4lakh over 4years, which is expensive for a middle class family, even I had to take education loan for filling my fees, not only me but many of my friends find it difficult to pay the fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship is provided to us. Loan facility is sanctioned by banks or other institutions, which is accepted by the college, most of the students prefer to take loans and provide fees semester wise.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities take place, which are conducted by students, we participate in intercollegiate events, labs of our college have very poor equipment. Sports take place in our college, there is a very small.ground which is not within the campus, but a bit away.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes the alumnis are a bit helpful, but not as such. They visit college very less and there is not much help from their side, they are busy with their own carrier, and which is very normal indeed. But the seniors are very nice helpful, they support us a lot.
Admission
I ranked 6554 in wbjee exam, and i got direct admission through the process set by west bengal government, known as counselling process. I got chance in the college in the first round, i waited till 3rd round for upgradation of college, but it didn't happen. So i finally took my admission in this college.
Faculty
Faculty of our specific department i.e. CSE branch is very nice, teachers are close to us, very knowledgeable and loves us all, currently the basic engineering sciences teachers are fine, not everyone, some just come and take a book, and make us write something and draw something on board, that's what goes.
