Remarks
Positive points include the quality of teaching, experience of faculty and opportunities offered by the college. All of these factors are upto the mark. The kind of events (both technical and extracurricular) organised in the college are also a plus point. One negative point about the college is the size of the campus and the locality where the college is situated.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum so far( I'm the second year right now) has been very interesting and innovative. Our college has an edge over other colleges as it is autonomous, thus can decide it's own curriculum. We've had a very interdisciplinary curriculum with tons of amazing subjects including python and psychology.
Placement Experience
Since I'm a second year student, I can't give a detailed review about this process. From reports of the past years, the placements seem to be excellent for the Computer branches. Our college does provide an internship through companies based mostly in Pune. Interviews are conducted in the campus. Average stipend is about 15000-30000 rupees.
College Events
There are three major events in the college: 1) Vishwakarandak- This is an intra college event where each branch competed for the trophy. Various competitions in technical, extracurricular and sports domain are held. This is a 4 day event 2) Melange- This is an inter college event. Engineering colleges from all over Pune participate in this event. Even this event has various technical, extracurricular and sports sub events. This is the biggest fest of the year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is slightly more expensive than other non-autonomous engineering colleges in Pune. But it is still feasible enough for most students because scholarships and grants are offered for underprivileged students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Have heard of government scholarship programs but haven't availed, so I don't know much about it. The college offers scholarships to certain students whose family income is less than a specified amount.
Campus Life
Extra curricular activities are planned well and take place throughout the year. There are various activities like dance, singing, painting and even social work. Student clubs also organise activities and workshops for students several times a month. Labs are average. Some of them labs I have worked in have been amazing in terms of apparatus, while some just need renovation.
Hostel Facilities
Not opted for hostel. From what I've heard, hostel infrastructure is decent and clean, but the locality for the girls hostel is not very good. Overall food and other facilities seem to be upto the mark.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are sympathetic and have been helpful since day 1. Seniors are assigned to each first year class to show them around and guide them with college procedures. They also help a lot in technical aspects. There is zero bullying in this college.
Admission
I got an admission through CAP rounds based on CET marks. After each round of CAP, students are selected to apply to a particular college and have to physically complete the admission process at the respective college. It is purely based on merit.
Faculty
From my point of view, the faculty is very competent and experienced. There are a few teachers that may not be upto the mark in terms of communication but their experience is top-notch. It's not possible the entire faculty of a college can be excellent, but some of them can be. There have been no issues or complaints about any faculty member from the students I know. Teachers have always used innovative teaching techniques and put in efforts to make sure we get the best.
