College Review

College is fields and is spread across 150 acres, so air is pure but during summer weather is humid. Local market is sufficient for everyday needs but for anything else you have to travel about 30 kms. to Ambala. There are 4 banks in college premises.

Course Curriculum is like any other engineering college, first year subjects are common for all streams, so that any student who wants to change the stream can easily do so without missing anything important. First year subjects are physics, chemistry, mathematics, c programing, applied mechanics etc. From second year onward curriculum is more stream oriented e.g. OOP, Software development, Advance Java programming, operating system etc. Exams are conducted on semester basis. Before each semester we are given 5-10 days holiday to prepare, then theory subject examination commences with 1-2 days inbetween them. Theory papers are of 60 marks and we require 24 marks to pass the exams. After theory examination we have practical examination which is of 40 marks, an external examiner conducts viva and practical to assess our know. In theory papers 40 marks are internals, in practical 60 marks are internal.

There are plenty of job opportunities provided by college's training and placement cell. Companies with package higher than 10 lakh per annum are only 2-3, Infosys is the mass recruiter and takes 40-50 students.

There are two events celebrated in the College, aMMUnatition, universUMM. The latter is bigger and is celebrated in month of September from 9 -11 September as 11 september is birthday of college chancellor. aMMUnatition is celebrated in March is mostly a sports event.

Fee structure of the College is very feasible as compared to some other engineering colleges. Fee has to be deposited in advance for one semester each time. It increases incrementally every year. If for some reason you are unable to deposit on time there is penalty.

There is one or two scholarship available. For those scholarships you have to have good attendance records, no backlogs and good academic record and must come from a low income household to avail the scholarship.

There are several student clubs for coding, literary, drama, dancing, Bhangra etc. College also has local NCC chapter for community outreach and social work. There are 2 football grounds, 1 cricket ground, 2 running tracks, 4 volleyball courts, 2 basketball courts one indoor and one outdoor. There is also sports complex which has indoor badminton courts, table tennis courts, basketball court, squash court, swimming pool and a gym.

Like most of other private colleges alumni network of college is non-existent. Passouts maintain very little contact with the college. If you happened to be placed in same company they will help you and refer you for jobs.

I just called a number given on website, they gave me mobile number of a faculty member. When I went there she took me through the whole admission process. I was asked for all relevant documents, 10th grade, 12th grade marksheet, migration certificate etc. Then I paid hostel and one semester fee in advance.

Senior faculty members have 1-2 PhDs, they are few in number and don't teach very often instead they mostly focus on their administrative duties, teaching is done by assistant professors most of them have good enough knowledge in their domain.
