Remarks

Patkar college is one of the places where I made a lot of memories. The crowd is not that bad. I am really going to miss those days. It is a place where I have learnt a lot of things, this is the place where I grew up mentally and emotionally. Thank you.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The course curriculum for my batch (2016-2019) was given by the university (Mumbai University). We had two semesters each year, so basically we had six semesters in three years. Our teachers tried their very best to complete the portion on time or even before time so that we can actually get some time or extra time to prepare for the exams.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placements and job opportunities are good. Although, Patkar college doesn't provide internships. Companies do visit the college for placement drives. Last year (2018) Lance and Toubro Infotech conducted a placement drive in the college itself. Sameer Kamble (our placement officer) tries his best and hustles and gets behind almost every student so that all the students get placed in good companies and can kickstart their careers.

College Events

2.5

There are a lot of events conducted in our college. In fact every department has their own event. Our IT department has two main events. Techtalks (this is an intra collegiate event) and Ignite (this is an inter collegiate event).

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is kinda feasible. They design the fee structure in such a way that it is feasible to each and every student. Whatever amount we pay is kinda worth paying because we get that much facility in the college as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

Unfortunately, I don't have any idea about this. But the college does provide free books (like Techmax) to students who fall below the poverty line. I really like this initiative because it helps those students.

Campus Life

2

The computer labs are newly renovated and have been updated with latest technology. One PC is shared by 2 students only. The cabinet has 1 TB HDD, 8 GB RAM, Intel i7 processor. The size of the monitor is about 15".

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, seniors are really helpful. They give good inputs on how to crack the university exams and how how to deal with TY projects. They even share some tips for cracking the interview of the company which they work or have worked.

Admission

I applied for Bsc-IT, took the form from the college, filled the form, attached my documents and the result(s) of my previous education and submitted it to the college. The college has three merit lists. I got selected in the second list.

Faculty

3.5

I was blessed to have such good teachers. Our teachers tried their very best to complete the portion on time or even before time so that we can actually get some time or extra time to prepare for the exams. They not only taught us their particular subjects but also gave us some life lessons and shared their experiences in the field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
