If you're looking for peaceful study atmosphere then you are in the right place because idukki climate is well know. And there are numerous tourist spots in idukki. Average temperature here is 20 degree celcius.
Course Curriculum Overview
Every year you will have 2 semester. Each semester would have 2 internal exams and a semester exam. The students who have above cut-off mark in two internal exam can appear for semester examination. students who doesn't have the sufficient cut-off mark will have to appear for summer classes and acquire the cut-off mark, then only they can appear for the semester exam.
Placement Experience
The exposure to placements for the students is very low in our college. Because our College is in a isolated area. But most of the reputed companies invite the students to participate in placement drives in other colleges. Last year 2018 almost 100 students are placed. The companies which offer job is TCS, INFOSYS,6D TECHNOLOGY, QBURST. Most of the companies come here is IT companies. Its rarely core company placements held last year we had MRF.
Fee Structure And Facilities
In government colleges you'll get admission only scoring a good rank in KEAM. For this student each semester you only need around 10000 rupees as fee. Most of the private colleges in kerala have almost 75000 rupees as fee for each year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college doesn't provide any scholarship. But you can apply for state government scholarship and central government scholarships. And a scholarship amount of 5000 rupees will be given for the topper in each class in every year by the PTA.
Campus Life
In GECI there numerous clubs for extra curricular activities. Photography club. Writters club. Singers club. Dancers club. NSS club. Football team. Cricket team. Table tennis team. But for sports activities we don't have a college ground. We rely on the near by grounda owned by other institutions. The college is under construction, so the play ground is expected in the upcoming years.
Hostel Facilities
The hostal infrastructure is just ok for boys. But for girls they provide excellent infrastructure and facilities. The boys hostal are 2 km away from the college compound. Where as girls hostal are in the college compound.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students who passed out are helping their younger ones in the college by providing placement classes , orientation classes etc. They also recommend their company to our college for the placement drive
Admission
Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance examination commonly known as KEAM. After your high school apply for the KEAM examination by qualifying the examination you're eligible for taking admission in engineering colleges in kerala.
Faculty
The faculty in the college changes every year. Every year you can expect out of 6 subjects you will get 4 permanent professors and 2 temporary/ guest lecturers. In GECI (government engineering College idukki) most of the professors are transferred from CET (college of engineering Trivandrum).
