Remarks

NICC, as I've seen and experienced throughout my three and a half years of college life, is distinctively student-oriented. The management has succeeded in taking prompt steps in the case, ever there has been a complaint, and the decision has always favored the students and their learning.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Since I'm doing an Undergraduate course here, it's easier for me to explain the course curriculum and structure of the Undergraduate courses in detail. In the first year, we get to go through an extensive foundation course, which provides us with the experiences necessary enough to choose either of the 3 courses of visual arts, communication design, and product design, which we learn for next two years, finally undergoing further specialization in the last year.

Placement Experience

4.5

NICC offers guaranteed placements to its graduating students, holding proper portfolios. It's only for the Photography Diploma Course that they do not guarantee placements but of course, ensure opportunities. Companies like TCS Interactive, Pepper Square and others provide placements and holds occasional placements in college. We are also informed of Internships and Competitions where we get to learn, experience and display our skills.

College Events

5

Our college essentially comprises of people from different parts of the country, hence celebrates festivals of almost all kind with no bar. For example, Onam, Christmas, Republic Day are all celebrated with the same excitement here. Also, they mark the same enthusiastic participation of both the faculties, management, and the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The Academic Fees of the course structure have changed with time. Currently, the Academic Fee structure for the Undergraduates sums up to Rupees 2,80,000 per year, for Indian students. And for Postgraduates, it sums up to Rupees 2,90,000 per year for Indian students. Diploma in Photography costs Rupees 2,70,000. However, the course structure varies for SAARC and International students.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I did not opt for any scholarship or education loan. But an education loan is provided. The Admission Officer can be contacted for so.

Campus Life

4

NICC has a fresh bunch of creative minds, coming from different backgrounds and having a wide range of skills. Sharing the same campus with them helps assimilate different kinds of ideas, not only with respect to creativity but also in different fields of knowledge. Open-minded people, as they are, build up a good community of people, who are ready to help you and advise you, even after you pass out from the college.

Hostel Facilities

5

The current hostel fees are Rupees 95,000 for individuals in Double Sharing Room and Rupees 1,20,000 for individuals in Single Room. It's a co-ed hostel, and we have a set of rules and regulations regarding conduct in the hostel, which are to be followed strictly. The hostel is provided with an in-house mess, proper security, hot-water (geyser) facilities and a common room. We are also provided with a warden to look after us.

Alumni/Alumna

This is something that is the best part of NICC. Learning is not only limited to faculties and classroom environment in NICC, rather we learn a lot about designing or creative processes from our seniors. Sharing their academic or even professional experiences help us to learn a lot about the creative field. Also from the alumni, often job offers or internships or even freelance works keep coming to us and we tend to form a network of our own.

Admission

At first from the website, we filled the form online. As well as downloaded and printed a form of the same with more details and mailed it to them via post. Next, we got a date for the entrance exams which takes at different places throughout India. After getting a selection through the entrance exam, we were made to go through a process of interview and portfolio showcase, after which we were let know if we were finally admitted.

Faculty

5

The primary strength of our college is the 13 faculties who are industry-experienced, having profound knowledge in their respective subjects. Not only during our college hours but also we get to consult our faculties beyond the prescribed college hours too. The student-faculty ratio also avails individual attention to students, hence it is a great advantage.

From final year the students can apply for the placements. At least 60% should be there to be eligible for the placement. Many companies provides placements in this college like infosys, Accenture, Mahindra and many more. The average package as per the company is 200000 per annum and the highest package is 700000 per annum. My plans after getting the degree is to go to abroad for my post graduate.

Placement Experience:

Usually there are placements in our college. If any student does not get a placement the faculty guide us what we can do next like the companies in which we can apply and how we can go further. In my course after finishing the bachelors degree you can further study masters it is available in our college itself or yoj can aplly for companies but if you do your masters you have a better opportunity and high posts for you better career. The course is of 8 semester you become eligible for campus placements in 7th semester. The last year that is seventh and eighth semester is basically practical and lot of projects provided. There various companies are seniors have applied and offered for example the genetic company in Bangalore that is Med gen. The highest package offered is 50000 and the average starts from 25000 placements in college. There is 75 percentage of students getting placements from our college. My plans after getting the degree is to go for further studies and do the masters after that i would like to do job along with my phd, this is my plan after getting my bachelors degree.

Most of the students after completing four years, continue to stay here to get Masters degree after one more year and pursue PhD from world renowned institutions. Very few people (<7/100) per batch will sit for campus placements and most of them will be selected with a good annual package of 30000 at an average. Some students, mostly Physocs majors can give government exams like ICRB, GATE to join ISRO and BARC as scientists

Qualification is good and the teaching method like some lectures is good. Term exams will be after 6 months from starting of sem and it's not as difficult as pu or 10th exams we can easily pass them.
